We are a two-form entry Church of England First School and Nursery, set in beautiful woodland grounds, for children aged 2 and a half to 9 years of age. We share a campus with Emmanuel Middle School, where our children transfer to in Year 5.  We are proud to be part of Initio Learning Trust, alongside Emmanuel Middle School.

Our learning values, Readiness, Engagement and Respectful Relationships are very important to us and direct our learning each day. We recognise that from time to time we might need support to make good choices. Our overarching school vision, to Be the light and hope, helps us to understand more deeply how we can shine our own light in all that we do and offer hope to others to help them shine too. We aspire to be the best that we can be for ourselves and for others, being certain and confident in the hope that God will never let us down. We all have so much to offer both our school family and the wider community and we love to celebrate each other's successes!

We are proud to work in partnership with parents, the local churches and community members in Verwood; welcoming clergy and volunteers into school to support each other in sharing our school vision throughout Verwood and the surrounding areas. We have an amazing PTA - Friends of Verwood First School (FoVS) - who work tirelessly to provide the school with additional resources and learning enrichment opportunities for our children.
