At Verwood CE First School and Nursery, we recognise that everyone can develop their Spirituality, regardless of whether they have a religious faith or not. We focus on four key areas to help us understand ourselves and our place in the world more deeply. 

Self

To recognise that every person is unique, with special talents and gifts. To learn about ourselves more deeply - how do we feel or respond in a particular situation? To understand that we are valued and play an important part in our families and wider community.

Others

To recognise that other people might respond differently to us and learn how we can engage with them respectfully. To understand that each of us is special and learn how to show empathy and compassion to others.

World

To pause for a moment, notice all the amazing things around us and allow our spirit to flourish.  To recognise how we see and relate to the physical and creative world. What is our response to nature, art or music?

Beyond

To wonder about things we do not understand. To ask questions and have openness to new experiences and feelings.
